Tony Robbins once said something powerful:
“Nothing in life has any meaning except the meaning we give it.”
Read that again.
An event happens — it’s neutral. Your mind is the one that paints it in colors of anger, stress, peace, or joy.
🌐 My Wi-Fi Story
One morning, just before my online yoga class, my Wi-Fi decided to play hide and seek.
For a moment, I felt that familiar spark of irritation… “Why today?!”
But then I remembered: Event + Response = Outcome.

The event was out of my control.
The response was fully in my hands.
I took a breath, switched to my backup hotspot, and started the class.
Yes, the tech glitch was annoying, but I didn’t let it paint my entire day grey.
🧠 Why Your Mind is the Real Game-Changer
This wisdom echoes the first step of the Ashtangik Marg (Eightfold Path) in Buddhism — Samyak Drishti (Right View).
It means seeing reality exactly as it is, without the quick stories and judgments our mind loves to create.
Buddha taught that all suffering begins with wrong perception.
If you see an event as a threat, your mind will react in fear.
If you see it as a lesson, your mind will respond with curiosity.
The event doesn’t change — only the meaning you give it changes your peace.
From Right View comes Right Thought, Right Speech, Right Action — and the rest of the path that leads to liberation.
In short, how you see decides how you live.
💡 How This Works in Daily Life
- Traffic jam → Instead of “My day is ruined,” think “Extra time to listen to a podcast.”
- Colleague’s rude comment → Instead of taking it personally, see it as “Their stress speaking, not their truth.”
- Unexpected bill → Instead of “Why me?” think “Time to re-check my finances.”

In each case, the event is neutral, but your response creates a peaceful or painful outcome.
When chaos hits:
🪷 Pause — Feel your feet on the ground. Take one slow breath in…and out.
🪷 Ask — “What is the meaning I want to give this?”
🪷 Choose — Respond in alignment with the outcome you want.
Do this often, and you rewire your mind to respond, not react.
You’ll notice — life doesn’t feel like it’s “happening to you” anymore.
It begins to feel like it’s happening for you.
